Recently this new game came out. It's called AION and it's some MMORPG that's been around for 2 years and is really popular around Korea and China. I decided to learn what all the hubub was about so I went on to youtube and looked up some trailers and gameplay. After about a minute of watching random videos, I decided that this was probably the most beautiful game ever. The graphics are amazing, and there's been a lot of hype about it too. Even the PvPvE looks fun.
Little did I know how miserable I would be trying to set it up. Actually, not only me, but it seems like thousands of people as well. Everyone agrees that AION probably had the shittiest launch ever. Tech support is miserable and I recently discovered that my laptop needs a lot of updating to do after I reformatted it and brought it back to life from my sister. It's so frustrating that I actually considered buying the game rather than getting it for free. But, even so, nothing is worth buying a $60 game and paying $15 every month.
The moral of the story is, even though I'm having an awful time with my laptop and getting things done, I would much rather go through this than get some overpriced, god-awful, MAC.

Epic endings
I recently watched Gladiator again and I kept thinking to myself how glorious the ending was. Which led me to the conclusion of how endings are great when the main character dies in some self-sacrificing way. Examples: Armageddon, Code Geass (Probably the greatest ending I've ever seen), Eagle Eye (almost. it looked like he died, which made it good), and... uhhh I guess that's it.
My movie theory is that if the main character dies, then the movie is epic. With the exception of failure directors and movie plots. What it basically means is that what separates a good movie to an exceptional one is the life and death of the main character.

Writing a Story
Have you ever wanted to write a story or make some kind of movie? After reading a bunch of manga/books/novels and watching many animes, movies, and t.v. shows, I felt like I could be able to write something that would simply be epic. So I started typing out my ideas and then I realized how tedious the process would be. There are so many ideas and scenes in my head that I want to depict, but writing them on paper and making them all connect somehow seemed like a task unfathomable to me. So I now have a deep respect to writers and those that have the perseverance and will power to complete it. Maybe a short story is what I need to do.

It's getting chilly
Ah, the winter is setting in and that means a lot of changes. For guys, it means going from khakis to blue jeans. Girls, it's all about those Eskimo boots of theirs. It also means that my car is going to be a giant Popsicle every morning and driving is gonna suck.
I wanna take this time and kinda discuss a certain manga. The manga that I recently finished reading was School Rumble (also SCZ). At first, I was pretty skeptical, cause it seemed like your average gag manga that has no story line. In a way, it is lol. But I actually enjoyed reading this series. The jokes were funny, the drawing was acceptable, and I actually did laugh out loud at certain points. I have to say my favorite character is Harima Kenji. His life adventures are hilarious and make me smile no matter what he does. I really wish that he gets paired up with Yakumo, cause I also like her as well. What I hate the most is effing Tenma. I dunno about all the other readers, but I sometimes found myself just skimming over the chapters about her. It's just a pain to read about her retarded antics and ideas, which is probably why I like Yakumo, who is more down to earth. I started the anime and it's also good. They pulled off the jokes very well and the season 2 opening is very catchy.
Overall, I would give the manga a 7 out of 10. If it was only about Harima, then it would be a definite 10. Btw, anyone else notice the uncanny similarity of Harima and the actual creator of School Rumble?

2D Fighters and You
My friend introduced me into 2D fighters recently for both the PS2 and xbox 360. At first, I was a bit skeptical, thinking "Oh man, this is gonna be a waste of time." But lo and behold, it was a blast. I felt like a little kid again button mashing in Mortal Kombat II. We both played King of Fighters XI (or was it 12?) on the PS2, and it was great. Button mashing and Super Special Leader moves were a win.
After a while, I decided to look more into 2D fighters and I came across BlazBlue. It's probably the most beautifully done 2D fighter I've ever seen. I bought the game, and went at it for weeks. The game is great because you feel like you actually can control the character. The game flows smoothly, the combos are sick (in a good way) and everything about the game is highly detailed. Online play, for the one month I had it, was also great. The skill matchup is pretty good too. You don't face too many people that you can spank or be spanked by. Don't even get me started on how great the music is as well. For anyone that has an Xbox 360 and is looking for a new game, get this game NOW!
UPDATE: it actually might be out for PS3 as well.

Does it make me more Asian?
Eh, it'd been a while since my last post. Mainly cause I was flooded with school work and trying to install some stuff on my computer. The stuff I tried installing (and succeeded thanks to tech support) was Vegas Pro 8. I'm currently trying to make an AMV. My first one will be on the movie/anime 5 centimeters per second, which I highly recommend if anyone has an hour and 2 minutes to spare. This would also help me make a mini movie/montage of my Assassination Game I told you guys about earlier.

Final Fantasy 13
I don't know why they keep pushing back the release date. The release date is March 2010, opposed to December 2009. I want that game so bad! It really looks exciting. It's the first FF game that is being manufactured for the next gen game systems of PS3 and 360. If you ever get a chance, just youtube it and watch a trailer or something. Make sure you wear a diaper cause the greatness will make you shit yourself.
